Car fool

To all commuters out there, a reason to be happy these days. Car pool is now permitted in Dubai!
Yehey!!!
Goodbye buses...i wake up two hours early because you are late.
Goodbye 'white' taxis...you always choose the white guy behind me even if i am first in line.
You ask too many questions on where I am going.
You act so arrogant, most of the time you are malice-friendly...asking me to seat beside you, getting my number and telling stories about your Pilipinee gfs.
Hello car pool! Now I can have my background checked so I can get approval to ride your car. I will be holding on to my certificate everyday so police will not catch us. I will only ride with my colleagues, not friends nor relatives.

If ever you plan to car pool, don't be a fool. Follow all the RTA requirements so you won't get pulled. Got it?!

Only in Dubai.

S*x and the City

There has been a popular discussion lately about the release of the movie 'S*x and the City.' A lot of people are complaining. They want it banned in the UAE because they find it immoral and inappropriate.

Don't worry; there are other alternatives to choose from:

1. Sacked in the City - wherein you get deported because you participated in violent protests and demanded pay rise.

2. Sick about the City - when you completely whine about everything...traffic, low salary, high cost of living, unfair labour practices, human rights violation, etc. And yet manages to stay in Dubai for such a long time!?

Madonna humps her way to Dubai!

Dubai is again making waves for paying $25 million for a concert.

Who's that 'Lucky Star'?
Who else but our favorite 'Material Girl' Madonna!

She is about to break record by performing the most lucrative concert ever.
$15 M for 90-minute concert
$10 M for private party

If the ongoing negotiations succeed, then by November (end of her World Tour), her last stop will be here in our 'La Isla Bonita'.

I'll go on a 'Holiday' for sure, can't wait to watch her!

As for her private party, I think these songs will be in the line-up:
Like a Virgin, Erotica, Deeper and Deeper, Hanky Panky, Take a Bow, Bad Girl and Express Yourself.

Madonna in the desert...get ready for some camel toe action!

Driving me crazy

Obtaining a driving license in UAE is one tough task (for me).
It will drain your pocket and take a long process to complete.

40 classes for beginners
20 classes if you have your country's license

Cost would range around Dh1500-2000.
Of course, we have to add other expenses like eye test, driving permit, typing service, opening file, etc.

Call it pay-per-action driving class.
Dh50 for parking test, Dh50 for assessment, Dh50 for signal test and another Dh80 for road test.
If you fail, then the list of fees goes on and on.

Oh well, I don't need to whine about it.
I will just look forward in getting my license and go on a road trip!

Meanwhile, I will just buckle up...while riding in a cab.

First stop...bus shelter!

World's first air-conditioned bus shelter, now in Dubai.
A major wow!
Now, we can add this to our growing list of the tallest, biggest, highest and most expensive project.

Waiting too long for buses is enough torture for us passengers.
Waiting under the sun is too much to bear.

With or without an air condition, waiting sheds should be first prioritized.
We don't need extraordinary feats or record-breaking projects.
We just need one, simple and ordinary shade to protect us from the scorching heat.

Do you have any idea how many people wait for the bus everyday?
And how many passengers will fit in this multi-million dollar shelter?

The good thing now is that we will have comfort while waiting in vain for our buses to arrive.
Sooner or later, we can convert this into a sleeping area for those people who can't afford a decent accommodation.

I bet they will put up different versions of the bus shelter.
pink - for ladies
three-storey - to set a record for tallest bus shelter
heart-shaped - to promote peace
high-tech - wherein we can surf the net and kill time

Btw, I'll take a picture of myself inside the bus shelter.
Commuting in comfort...Dubai style.
